Cougars host two-day, 54-hole tournament at Golf Club of Houston beginning Monday morning
HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Women's Golf program continues its spring season when it plays host to the Chevron Collegiate at Golf Club of Houston.The two-day, 54-hole tournament tees off Monday morning with 36 holes with the Final Round beginning Tuesday morning. Admission is FREE, and all fans are invited to attend.
Houston enters this week's tournament after finishing fourth at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club in Mexico on Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Junior Moa Svedenskiold opened that event with a 68 and finished fifth with a score of 3-under 216 to lead the Cougars.
It was the Cougars' fifth straight Top-Four team showing to open the 2024-25 season.

MEET the COUGARS
The Cougars will be represented by junior Moa Svedenskiold, junior Alexa Saldana, senior Hyeonji Kang, junior Natalie Saint Germain and sophomore Maelynn Kim.
Freshman Annika Ishiyama, sophomore Ellen Yates and seniors Brooke Morales and Anna Economon will compete as individuals.
This season, Svedenskiold leads the Cougars with a 71.29 scoring average and is tied with Kim for second with nine rounds of par or better. The Halmstad, Sweden, native has shot par or better in seven of her last eight rounds.
Saint Germain stands second among the Cougars with a 71.58 average while Ishiyama tops the team with 10 rounds of par or better during her first collegiate season.
TEAM FIELD
Houston will compete in a 16-team field featuring Texas State, Tulsa, Indiana, North Texas, Texas Tech, Maryland, Iowa State, SMU, UTSA, TCU, Arkansas, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Illinois and Iowa
TEE TIMES
Monday's play begins at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start with the Second Round to follow immediately.
Svedenskiold starts in the first group off No. 1 with Saldana (second group off No. 1), Kang (first group off No. 2), Saint Germain (second group off No. 2) and Kim (No. 3) following.
Economon begins play in the first group off No. 17 with Morales (second group off No. 17), Yates (first group off No. 18) and Ishiyama (second group off No. 18).
