
PREVIEW: Women’s Golf Ready for Landfall Tradition

Cougars tee off in three-day tournament at Country Club of Landfall on Friday morning
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The University of Houston Women's Golf program returns to action when it competes at the Landfall Tradition beginning Friday morning at Country Club of Landfall.Schools will play 18 holes beginning Friday with 7:30 a.m. (CDT), split-tee starts for the first two rounds. The Final Round tees off with a 7:45 a.m. (CDT) split-tee start Sunday.
The event is free and open to all fans. Spectators should use the Eastwood Road entrance to Landfall.
In their most recent action, the Cougars tied for third at the Jim West Challenge at Kissing Tree Golf Club on Monday. Houston posted sub-par rounds over the final 36 holes and finished with a 54-hole total of 3-under 864.
Senior Natalie Saint Germain fired three straight rounds in the 60s, including a Final-Round 68, and captured the first individual title of her collegiate career with a score of 10-under 206.
Fellow senior Alexa Saldaña joined Saint Germain with a 68 of her own Monday and rose into a tie for 11th with a score of 4-under 212.
The Landfall Tradition will be the final team event for the Cougars during the fall season. Houston will send three individuals to compete at The Bear Brawl at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas, on Tuesday, in a recent addition to the program's schedule.

MEET the COUGARSUnder the leadership of Carolyn Macow Leatherwood Head Coach Lydia Lasprilla, the Cougars will be represented by Saint Germain, Saldaña, senior Moa Svedenskiöld, junior Ellen Yates and junior Maelynn Kim.
With her performance earlier this week, Saint Germain holds the team lead with a 69.17 scoring average and five rounds of par or lower with all five rounds in the 60s.
Saldaña stands second with a 70.33 average and three rounds below par while Yates is third with a 71.83 average and three sub-par rounds as well.
TEAM FIELD
Houston will compete in an 18-team field featuring Alabama, Duke, Furman, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Maryland, NC State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, South Carolina, SMU, UCF, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and host UNCW
TEE TIMES
For Friday's First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from North Carolina and Kent State.
Kaem begins the day off No. 1 at 7:15 a.m. CDT, with Yates (7:24 a.m. CDT), Svedenskiöld (7:33 a.m. CDT), Saldaña (7:42 a.m. CDT) and Saint Germain (7:51 a.m. CDT) following.

UP NEXT
Following the Landfall Tradition, three Cougars will compete as individuals at The Bear Brawl, hosted by Baylor at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas, on Oct. 28.
Redshirt freshman Chiara Brambilla, sophomore Emilia Väistö and freshman Sadie Adams will represent Houston in a recent addition to the Cougars' schedule. Adams will make her collegiate debut at that event after an award-winning junior career.
Following the winter break, Houston returns to action to begin its spring season at the Collegiate Individual at Guadalajara Country Club in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Jan. 30-31.
