PREVIEW: Houston Heads to Ames to Face Iowa State

Ames, Iowa – The University of Houston Soccer team clashes with Iowa State at 6 p.m., Thursday at the Cyclone Sports Complex.

The Cougars (6-3-4 1-3-2 Big 12) look to end a five-game winless stretch against an Iowa State (4-6-2, 1-5-0 Big 12) side that has dropped its last five results.

LAST TIME OUT
Houston suffered a 3-2 defeat to #25 West Virginia on Friday.

The Cougars ended the first half leading 1-0, after junior Sabrina Taber intercepted an errant pass in the 43rd minute.

In the 56th minute, the Mountaineers tied the game as Ava Arnold found Maddie Levy off a corner kick. Both teams would tally a goal in the 80th minute, before Taylor White scored the game winner in the 83rd minute with her league leading fifth goal in Big 12 play.

Graduate Jaden Humbyrd, junior Kyrsten Kizer and sophomore Casey Maddox were named captains for the 2025 season as voted on by their teammates.
