Cougars knock down season-high 16 3-pointers in 86-55 victory over BYU
HOUSTON (AP) – Junior guard Emanuel Sharp had 18 points, sophomore guard Terrance Arceneaux scored 15 and the #14/14 University of Houston Men's Basketball program beat BYU, 86-55, inside Fertitta Center on Saturday afternoon for its sixth straight win.
Graduate guard Mylik Wilson had 12 points as Houston (10-3, 2-0 Big 12) shot 49% overall and 47% on 3-pointers. The 16 made treys were a season high for Houston.
Graduate forward J'Wan Roberts posted six points against the Cougars and now has 985 points during his award-winning career. The St. Thomas, V.I, native needs only 15 more points to become the 52nd member of the Houston's 1,000-Point Club.
With Saturday's win, the Cougars won their 30th consecutive home game for the nation's longest active streak and collected their 15th straight conference home victory.
Houston outrebounded BYU (10-3, 1-1 Big 12) 37-24.
Trevin Knell had 12 points and Richie Saunders scored nine for BYU (10-3, 1-1), which had its four-game winning streak snapped. BYU shot 37.5% overall and 33% on 3-pointers.
Houston recorded its second biggest win against BYU in the series history and won for the fifth time in the last six meetings against the Cougars. Saturday's 31-point victory trailed only Houston's 102-69 win in Houston on Dec.

• Following Monday's game, Houston continues its conference homestand as it plays host TCU at 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6, inside Fertitta Center.
