Dove, Marshall Jr., Post Meet and Facility Records at Ted Nelson Invitational on Saturday

Dove breaks school record alongside meet and facility record
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Graduate KeAyla Dove and senior Jamar Marshall Jr., each won their events, set facility and meet records, and Dove also established a school record at the Ted Nelson Invitational inside the R.A. "Murray" Fasken Indoor Track on Saturday.

Dove powered through the women's shot put competition with a mark of 17.76m (58-3.25). The graduate's historic throw smashed the program record as well as a meet and facility record. Dove currently has the fifth-best mark in the nation.

In the men's 60-meter hurdles, Marshall Jr. shined as he tied his personal best time of 7.59 for his second win this season. This time marked a facility and meet record along with the fifth fastest time in the nation.Â

Houston had a successful showing in the women's pole vault as freshman Evina Panagiotou finished second with a career-best mark of 4.03m (13-2.50) and freshman Kaylee Daniel cleared a personal best of 3.93m (12-10.75) for third. The duo moved up in the program's history standings at fourth and sixth, respectively.Â

Another pair of Cougars finished in the top three as junior Turey Stoudemire placed second in the men's high jump at 2.15m (7-0.50) and sophomore Antrea Mita took third with the same mark, both personal indoor best marks.Â

Senior Adam Mason crossed the finish line with a personal best time of 1:50.72 for third in the 800-meter.

The men's 4x400-meter relay of senior Trey East III, freshman King Taylor, freshman Prentice Sanders II and freshman Sahfi Reed placed second with a season-best time of 3:07.22 to move up to fourth on Houston's top-10 standings and eighth in the nation.Â
