Severe Winter Weather Forces Changes to Houston Basketball Schedules

Women’s Basketball meets Texas Tech at 1 p.m., Wednesday; Men’s Basketball now faces Utah at 5 p.m., Wednesday, in Fertitta Center
HOUSTON – Due to the threat of severe winter weather expected to hit the greater Houston area, the University of Houston Men's and Women's Basketball programs announced changes to their schedules this week.
As part of a doubleheader, Houston Women's Basketball now faces Big 12 Conference rival Texas Tech at 1 p.m., Wednesday. Houston Men's Basketball tips off vs. Utah in the first meeting in Houston during the series history at 5 p.m., Wednesday.
Due to the inclement weather forecast, event staffing, concessions and premium space offerings inside Fertitta Center may be limited. Houston Athletics will continue to monitor weather conditions closely and provide updates if further changes are necessary.
There are no changes to ticketing procedures or entry. Ticket holders to the Women's Basketball contest vs. Texas Tech will receive complimentary access to the Men's Basketball game vs. Utah. Fans are encouraged to exercise caution and prioritize safety when making travel arrangements.
Houston Men's Basketball enters Wednesday's game as winner of its last 10 games overall and its last 32 home games inside Fertitta Center. The home winning streak stands as the nation's longest active streak with the overall streak tying for third in the country.
COACH KELVIN SAMPSON RADIO SHOW
Due to the schedule change, the Coach Kelvin Sampson Radio Show scheduled for Wednesday has been canceled and will not be made up.
The show will resume with Sampson, host Jeremy Branham and a guest at J Bar M Barbecue (2201 Leeland St.) for the Thursday, Jan. 30 show.
