Three-time All-WAC First Team Singles and Doubles joins Houston with one year of eligibility remaining
HOUSTON – University of Houston Tennis Head Coach Katarina Adamovic announced the signing of senior transfer Santa Strombacha from Grand Canyon University, on Friday.
"I am so thrilled to welcome Santa to our program. She is one of the hardest working people I've encountered and already made her mark as a standout player in college tennis," said Adamovic. "I look forward to continuing to work with her and for Houston fans to see her play for the Coogs."
The Berlin, Germany, native reunites with Adamovic at Houston after three strong seasons at GCU, where she earned All-WAC First Team honors in singles and doubles in all three seasons.
In 2024, Strombacha led the Lopes with a 19-1 singles record and 20 wins in doubles. While in Phoenix, Ariz., Strombacha amassed a 51-10 singles record and a 49-11 doubles record.
"Houston has a lot to offer academically and athletically for my future, especially now that I'm going into my last year as a college player and wanting to play in a big conference for years now," Strombacha said. "Having coach Kat here and continuing to work together to achieve my goals was very important to me."
