Track & Field Concludes Action at Mt. SAC Relays, J. Fred Duckett Twilight

Cougars earn five first-place finishes to close weekend action
HOUSTON and WALNUT, Calif. – Senior hurdler De'Vion Wilson finished as the top collegiate finisher at Mt. SAC Relays, while 10 Cougars placed in the Top-Three with five in first place, along with six personal bests at J. Fred Duckett Twilight on Saturday.

Wilson finished second overall in the men's 110-meter hurdles and was the top collegiate competitor with a time of 13.49. This moves the senior to No. 13 in the nation.
J. FRED DUCKETT TWILIGHT
Freshman Laney Kucera won the pole vault with a height of 3.56 (11'-8.25) meters, the only competitor to reach the height and doing so on her last attempt for her first collegiate first-place finish. Sophomore Aubrey Tupper finished tied for second with her clearance of 3.41 (11'-2.25) meters.
In the men's long jump, freshman Christopher Johnson finished first with a leap of 7.18 (23'-6.75) meters. To complete the 1-2 finish, freshman Collin Lusk claimed second in the long jump with his leap of 7.16 (23'-6) meters, a personal best.
Graduate Sydni Townsend won the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.17, a season best. Townsend finished just three seconds over the rest of the competition, with the No. 5 time in the nation.
The men's 100-meter dash saw another 1-2 Cougar finish. Senior Davonte Burnett picked up the win with his time of 10.34. This marked Burnett's first individual event win since winning the 100-meter in 2022 at the USC vs. UCLA meet.
Sophomore Louie Hinchliffe finished second at 10.40 in his 100-meter Houston debut. Sophomore Jaden Brown posted a personal best time of 10.54 in the event.
Senior sprinter Ireon Brown ran to second place in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 21.52.
Graduate Kelly-Ann Beckford ran in her first 1,500-meter of the season and came out on top with a personal-best time of 4:26.20 and the No. 6 time in school history.
Junior Eleni Kaiser ran to a personal-best time of 4:45.97 in the women's 1,500-meter.
In the women's shot put, freshman thrower Cassidy Ball picked up a personal-best throw of 13.40 (43'-11.5) meters.
To close the night, junior Branch Cox finished third in the 5,000-meter with a personal-best time of 14:35.95.
UP NEXT
Houston will attend two meets as they travel to Philadelphia, Pa., for Penn Relays, Thursday through Saturday and will also compete at the Texas Invitational in Austin, Texas on Saturday.
