Women’s 4x400-meter Relay Takes Third to Close NCAA Indoor Championships

Women’s relay, Wilson earn First Team All-America honors
BOSTON – The University of Houston Track & Field program closed the NCAA Indoor Championships with a third-place finish in the women's 4x400-meter relay, First Team All-America honors for De'Vion Wilson and Second Team All-America honors for Grant Levesque on Saturday.
Levesque closed out action in the heptathlon with 5,842 points for 10th overall and received Second Team All-America recognition. In the pole vault, Levesque recorded the best height in collegiate heptathlon history, as he cleared 5.46 (17'-11) meters in his first attempt and set an indoor personal best.
In the other two events for Levesque's day, he placed first in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 7.80 and ran the 1000-meter with a time of 3:04.26. The junior from El Paso, Texas, was the only heptathlete to score 1,000 points in two events over the weekend as he scored 1,030 points in the 60-meter hurdles and 1,055 points in the pole vault.
Wilson was the first Cougar to earn First Team All-America honors on Saturday with his fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles final.
The women's 4x400-meter relay finished third in the nation with a time of 3:28.28 to set a school record. Graduate Sydni Townsend, graduate Kelly-Ann Beckford, senior Iman Babineaux and freshman Michaela Mouton ran a season-best time to earn First Team All-America honors.

The Cougars will shift their focus to outdoor season as they host the Kirk Baptiste Spring Break Invitational on Thursday at the Carl Lewis International Complex.
Field events are scheduled to begin at noon and running events at 3:30 p.m.
