‘Voice of March Madness’ set for halftime recognition at Houston Men’s Basketball
HOUSTON – University of Houston Athletics will honor Jim Nantz, the voice of March Madness, at halftime of Saturday's #1/1 Houston Men's Basketball's 3 p.m. regular-season finale against #14/15 Kansas inside the Fertitta Center.
From 1991 to 2023, Nantz ('81) was the heartbeat of the NCAA Tournament, weaving tales of triumph and heartbreak with his signature eloquence. His voice guided fans through many of college basketball's most memorable moments.
His journey began on Cullen Boulevard, where he majored in radio and television broadcasting and received his degree in 1981. Four decades later, his time with CBS Network spanned an astonishing 32 Final Fours, culminating in Houston last spring. Nantz finished his NCAA Tournament career with an astounding 354 games called.
Fans attending Saturday's game are encouraged to arrive early and be in their seats for 2:30 p.m. pregame senior ceremonies. Men's Basketball parking lots open at 1 p.m. and Fertitta Center doors open at 2 o'clock. For additional parking and game day information for Super Saturday on campus, click here.
