
Avenida Houston Official Home for Cougars’ March Madness Watch Parties

Join fellow Cougar fans Friday with festivities underway at 7 p.m., tipoff at 8:35 p.m.
HOUSTON – Can't make it to Dallas this weekend? Catch University of Houston Men's Basketball's run through March Madness at the next-best spot.
Join fellow Houston supporters this Friday at Avenida Houston (1001 Avenida de las Americas; Houston, Texas, 77010) in front of the iconic George R. Brown Convention Center for the University of Houston's official Watch Party as the No. 1 seed Cougars face No. 4 Duke. The game will tip off at 8:35 p.m. and festivities will get underway at 7 p.m.
Attendees are welcome to bring their favorite chair and blanket or snag a chair on the plaza. The game will be broadcast on a massive 24-foot television with additional screens to catch the action. Festivities include:
For a school-record sixth straight season, the University of Houston Men's Basketball program is competing in the NCAA Tournament and, for fifth second consecutive year, the Cougars have reached at least the Sweet 16.
Sophomore guard Emanuel Sharp started overtime with a 3-pointer that put Houston ahead to stay as the top-seeded Cougars advanced to the Sweet 16 back in Texas by topping No. 9 seed Texas A&M 100-95 on Sunday night. The Cougars improved to 8-2 as a No. 1 seed. They now have won at least 32 games for the fifth time.
Under the leadership of Head Coach Kelvin Sampson, the Cougars captured the Big 12 regular-season championship with a 15-3 mark during its first year in the league. It was the program's fifth conference regular-season title in the last six seasons.

- A special edition poster for the first 200 fans to commemorate the moment
- Drawings to win Kelvin Sampson bobbleheads
