Diving Finishes Day One at NCAA Zone D Championships

Farris advances to finals in 1-meter competition
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team wrapped up its first of three days of competition at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at CRWC Natatorium on Monday afternoon.

Fifth-year Chase Farris led Houston in the 1-meter as the lone Cougar to advance to the finals. She went on to finish in 18th in the event (489.35).Â

Emilia Waters took 32nd (250.90) in the prelims, with Michelle McLeod using a score of 248.05 to earn a 34th-place finish. Hedda Grelz finished 36th (235.60) while Josie Graves took 37th (233.10).Â

UP NEXT
Zone D Championships continue on Tuesday with the 3-meter competition. Prelims begin at 11:45 a.m. with finals at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday's competition begins at 11:45 a.m. with platform prelims followed by the finals at 1:45 p.m.
