PREVIEW: Volleyball Heads to #22 TCU, #17 Baylor

FORT WORTH, TEXAS – The University of Houston Volleyball team is back on the road for a pair of matches, continuing a streak of four consecutive tilts against ranked opponents as the Cougars head to #22 TCU on Wednesday before a Saturday contest against #17 Baylor.

First serve against the Horned Frogs is set for 6:30 p.m. while the match against the Bears is slated for a 2 p.m. start.

Graduate libero Kate Georgiades is nearing 2,500 career digs, sitting just 15 away from the milestone. She would be one of 27 in NCAA Division I history to surpass the threshold and the first to do it in the Big 12 Conference.
Georgiades leads the Big 12 Conference and ranks first in the state of Texas and 17^th nationally with 5.06 digs per set. She's also tallied 28 consecutive matches with double-digit digs.
Graduate setter Annie Cooke is moving up multiple program career record lists. She currently sits in third in service aces (139) and in assists (3,787) in the all-time rankings. She's also played in the fourth most matches (136) and third most sets (500) in program history.
Georgiades is also making moves on Houston record lists. She currently ranks third all-time in digs (2,258) and eighth in aces (108).
Among active NCAA Division I players, Georgiades' collegiate career mark of 2,485 digs is the third most, ranking first among Texas schools and in the Big 12 and sits at seventh across all NCAA divisions. Her 4.72 digs per set average is 10th among active NCAA Division I players, leading the Big 12 while ranking third in Texas.
Houston faces one of the toughest schedules in the country having played eight matches so far this season against AVCA ranked teams with another two next week.
Freshman Lily Barron ranks first in the Big 12 with 0.44 aces per set.
