Cougars renew rivalry with Tulane while battling second ranked team in two weeks
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving team returns home for a tri-meet against #13 LSU and Tulane on Saturday at CRWC Natatorium. The meet is slated for a 10 a.m. start.Â

Due to Houston Football's game at TDECU Stadium, parking for the meet will be affected. Fans are able to utilize football gameday lots for the appropriate fee.

LAST TIME OUT
Houston claimed 16 podiums and four NCAA B-Cuts while freshman Lottie Cullen broke the 100-yard backstroke program record in a dual meet against #20 Texas A&M. Joining Cullen with a B-Cut, senior Henrietta Fangli and sophomore Evelyn Entrekin collected B-Cuts in the 100-yard breaststroke and junior Virag Peter clinched a B-Standard time in the 200-yard breaststroke.Â

NATIONAL RANKINGS
The 400-yard medley relay team of Cullen, Fangli, junior Noor El Gendy and junior Liya Goupil swam the current eighth fastest time in the country with Cullen's time of 52.29 ranking as the 15th quickest time in the NCAA this season. Joining them in the national rankings, Peter's mark of 2:11.60 in the 200 breaststroke is the 12th quickest time in the NCAA while Fangli and Entrekin have the 15th and 25th fastest times in the 100 breaststroke, respectively.

NCAA CUTS
Seven student-athletes have earned NCAA Cuts in their respective events this season. Three divers have claimed seven NCAA Zones Cuts across the three diving events. Fifth-year Hedda Grelz and sophomore Michelle McLeod clinched Zone Cuts in all three diving events while fifth-year Emilia Waters secured an NCAA Zone Cut in the 1-meter competition.Â

Cullen (100 backstroke), Fangli and Entrekin (100 breaststroke) and Peter (200 breaststroke) have earned B-Cuts in swimming events this season.Â
