Cougars continue homestand with tri-meet against Owls, Hurricanes
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving Team continues its 2023-24 campaign with a tri-meet against in-town rival Rice and out-of-state foe Miami on Friday inside CRWC Natatorium. The first event is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Houston battled #11 Texas A&M earlier this month in CRWC Natatorium. While the Cougars captured 18 podiums and three top spots, the Aggies pulled away with the win, 187.5-106.5.Â

BIG 12 HONORS
Two Cougars have earned weekly honors from the Big 12 this season. Elizabeth Jimenez picked up the team's first honors as Newcomer of the Week on Oct. 11 following a pair of Top 10 time at the Dust Off Your Boots Invitational.Â

After finishing as the Houston Diving Invitational's top diver, fifth year Chase Farris was selected as the Big 12 Diver of the Week on Oct. 18. Farris earned the top spot in both the 1-meter and platform competitions while also finishing second in the 3-meter event.Â

Farris repeated as Diver of the Week on Jan. 17, becoming the first Cougar to earn multiple Big 12 weekly awards. She finished second in the 1-meter competition and third in the 3-meter against Texas A&M to secure the spot.

NCAA CUTS
Houston's six divers have earned a combined 15 NCAA Zone cuts this season. Farris, Josie Graves, Hedda Grelz and Michelle McLeod have captured qualifications in all three diving events. Emilia Waters has Zone cuts in the 1-meter and 3-meter events while Alexa Massari has a Zone cut in the platform competition.

Additionally, four swimmers have combined for five NCAA B-Cut times in three events. Henrietta Fangli has a cut time in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke while Evelyn Entrekin also has a cut time in the 100 breaststroke. Alondra Ortiz and Adelaide Meuter both earned B-Cuts in the 200-yard butterfly.Â

The Cougars battle SMU on Feb. 3 in their last scheduled meet prior to the Big 12 Conference Championships, which run from Feb. 27-March 3 at West Virginia. Houston's Senior Day meet against the Mustangs is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
