SERIES HISTORY. The Cougars and Shockers meet for the second series this season. Earlier this season, Houston came away with the series win against Wichita State including a seven-inning hit parade which ended with a 17-3 win for the Cougars.
LAST TIME OUT. Houston clinched the Silver Glove Series against Rice taking the second game of a season-long contest all the way to the 12th inning before winning 8-5. Â Â
BATTLE FOR THE TOP. The Cougars are currently the top team in the American Athletic Conference. With 10-5 conference records, both Houston and Wichita State are tied for the first place seed. The Cougars currently hold the tie breaker but the top spot will be claimed this weekend when the two teams face off.
LEADING THE CONFERENCE. The Cougars currently lead the American in batting average, slugging percentage, runs, hits, RBI, home runs, total bases, at bats and saves while Justin Murray leads all players in saves and Anthony Tulimero leads in runners caught stealing.
10+ DAYS. In 25 games this season, the Cougars have tallied 10+ hits including all the last four while registering 15+ hits in nine games. As well, Houston has scored 10+ runs in 13 games this season.
SERIES WINS. The Cougars have no secured five-straight series conference wins. The last time the Cougars had won their first five-conference series was in 2006 when they won every series. Outside of the conference match ups, Houston's series wins dates back to the Minnesota contest when the Cougars swept the series from March 17-19.
STABLE STREAKS. Zach Arnold extended his reached base streak to 41 games. He has reached in every single game he has played in while notching a 14 game-hit streak that started in the final game at Wichita State.
10 FOR THE WEEKEND. Last weekend, Houston recorded 10 home runs. Zach Arnold and Brandon Uhse led the charge with two apiece, while Thomas Lyssy, Alex Lopez, Justin Murray, Drew Bianco, Ian McMillan and Anthony Tulimero all nabbed one. Â
DOUBLE PLAY. The Cougars are currently ranked third in the country in double plays turned with 44. Houston has turned multiple double plays in 14 games including four against HCU.
EXTRA INNINGS. The Cougars are a perfect 5-0 when the game goes to extra innings. They have beating UTRGV, Minnesota, ECU, UCF and Rice in extras.
PROMOTIONS
Bring your four-legged friends as dog bowls will be given away all weekend. Dogs must be accompanied on a leash and remain on the grass berm. Dogs are not permitted in seating areas. Kids (12 and under) get into every home game for the rest of the season free if they are wearing the youth league jersey or camper t-shirt.

Friday is Fan Friday and Cinco de Mayo where tickets and nachos will be $5. Fans can also purchase a hot dog, chips and a soda for just $8 at the concession stand. The first 100 students to the game on Friday night will get a free voucher for nachos.

Come out for Kids Day and Family Day at the ballpark on Sundays. Kids (12 and under) may run the bases postgame and use inflatables in-game on site. Fans can take advantage of a $5 hot dog and soda deal at concessions.
