Cougars wrap spring slate, open fall practice Wednesday, Aug. 2
HOUSTON – Due to forecasted inclement weather in the greater Houston area over the weekend, University of Houston Football's Spring Game, originally set for Friday night at TDECU Stadium, has been canceled. The Cougars will wrap the spring with a closed indoor practice.
Houston is set to return to the gridiron Wednesday, Aug. 2 for the first of 25 practices leading into the program's inaugural season in the Big 12 Conference. The Cougars open their slate on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Conference USA Champion UTSA from TDECU Stadium.
"We appreciate the support of our fans and know many of them were excited to come see our 2023 team compete on Friday," Head Coach Dana Holgorsen said. "Our players, coaches and staff have been working hard to make the most of our opportunities this spring and look forward to getting back in front of Cougar fans at TDECU this fall."
