Houston drops final game 7-6 against Sooners
Houston (5-10) relief pitcher Josh Ekness (1-1) was saddled with his first loss of the season throwing 2.1 innings and allowing three earned runs. Oklahoma (11-5) secured the series sweep as Carson Pierce (2-0) earned the win while Aaron Weber locked up the save.

- Zach Arnold has successfully reached base in all 15 games this season. The junior recorded four singles in five at-bats.
- Justin Murray pitched one inning going three up, three down. He also scored a run for the Cougars.
4th | In the top of the first, Oklahoma took 1-0 lead but Houston brought in its own run across thanks to a sacrifice fly from sophomore outfielder Cameron Nickens, bringing senior third baseman Zach Arnold across the plate to tie the score at 1-1.
5th | Houston took the lead in the home half as Ian McMillian singled down the right field line to plate Brandon Burckel for a 2-1 advantage.
8th | With Houston taking the lead, Oklahoma broke things open on a pair of three-run frames in the sixth and seventh. The Cougars did not back down and pushed across four runs in the eighth inning. As a pinch hitter, Nick Collins singled through the left side, pushing Brandon Burckel across home plate. With the bases loaded, Arnold tallied his fourth hit of the day allowing Justin Murray to cross the plate making the score 7-5. An Anthony Tulimero double to center field brought in Uhse and Coby DeJesus home before Alex Lopez was tagged out at home to the end inning trailing 7-6.
The Cougars managed to get on base in the ninth but ultimately could not bring a player home taking the loss 7-6.

The Cougars continue their homestand welcoming Texas A&M at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with a radio broadcast on The Varsity Network.
