#22 Volleyball Earns Eight Seed in NCAA Tournament

Cougars finished regular season 18-9 including a 11-7 mark in Big 12 Conference play
HOUSTON – The #22 University of Houston Volleyball team received a No. 8 seed in the Stanford quadrant in this year's NCAA Tournament, marking the team's second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.
Houston (18-9, 11-7 Big 12) will play UC Santa Barbara in the First Round in Stanford, Calif., at 6:30 p.m. CT, Friday, Dec. 1.
The winner will face the victor of the #2 (1) Stanford-Fresno State match on Saturday at 8 p.m. CT.
Whoever advances from the four-team pod at Stanford will advance to the Regionals Weekend, also hosted at Stanford.
The Cougars are one of seven Big 12 Conference teams to make the Tournament and one of two new additions to the league to enter the NCAA Tournament. Baylor, BYU, Iowa State, Kansas, TCU and Texas also made the Tournament.
This year's trip to the Tournament is Houston's 13th appearance in school history. Last season, the Cougars advanced to the Sweet Sixteen in their first tourney appearance since 2000 with wins over South Dakota and Auburn, eventually falling to #5 (1) Stanford in the Sweet 16.
