Cougars set to face Kansas at 1 p.m., Sunday in Lawrence, Kan.
MANHATTAN, Kan.– The University of Houston Soccer program dropped a 1-0 decision against Kansas State in Big 12 Conference action on Thursday evening at Buser Family Park
In the first-ever meeting between the Cougars and Wildcats, Houston (7-6-1, 1-5 Big 12) tallied 11 shots on the evening, with Allie Byrd, Cordelia Cross and Anna Reysa posting two each.
Kansas State (3-8-3, 1-4-1 Big 12) posted the lone goal of the match in the 23rd minute when Jazmin Brown scored her third of the season, sending a header into the back of the net.
Despite Houston registering six shots in the second half, the early goal sealed the victory for Kansas State.
Goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich finished with eight saves for the Cougars, while the Wildcats' Murphy Sheaff posted four.
UP NEXT
The Cougars will remain in Kansas as they travel to Lawrence to face the Jayhawks at 1 p.m., Sunday at Rock Chalk Park.
Houston will close out its Big 12 road slate at 6 p.m., Thursday, as it faces #23 TCU in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Cougars then will return to the Carl Lewis International Complex for their Go Pink for the Cure game against Texas (Oct. 15) and will close out the regular season against Baylor (Oct. 23).

Single-game tickets are available to purchase for $10 per match. Mobile tickets can also be purchased at game time at the ticket booth located at Schroeder Park (baseball), adjacent to the Carl Lewis International Complex.
