Aryanna Jimison scores two, Dietrich posts career-high nine saves
FORT WORTH, Texas– Freshman midfielder Aryanna Jimison scored two goals in the University of Houston Soccer program's draw against #21 TCU at Garvey-Rosenthal Soccer Stadium on Thursday evening.
Houston (8-6-2, 2-5-1 Big 12) earned its first draw at TCU (9-4-3, 5-1-2 Big 12) since 2010 when the Cougars picked up a 2-2 draw in double overtime (Sept. 3, 2010).
TCU's Seven Castain scored the first goal in the 19th minute, followed by Gracie Brian in the 27th minute of action, giving the Horned Frogs a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
The Cougars answered with two goals of their own in the second half by Jimison for her first career brace.
Houston's first goal resulted off a free kick as midfielder Alexis Fowlkes powered the ball towards the box for Jimison to send it past TCU's goalkeeper Lauren Kellet. This marked Fowlkes' first career assist.
The Cougars kept the momentum going and found the equalizer in the 74th minute as Jimison scored her second of the evening from the 28-yard line with freshman forward Kyrsten Kizer assisting.
Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Dietrich recorded a career-high nine saves against the Horned Frogs, including four in the final 10 minutes of play to secure the draw for the Cougars.
