Cougars set to face Houston Baptist on Sunday
LUBBOCK, Texas – The University of Houston Soccer program dropped its third match of the season to Texas Tech, 3-0 Thursday evening from the John Walker Soccer Complex in Lubbock, Texas.
Texas Tech (2-2-3) would get on the board in the 27th minute with Peyton Parsons opening the way for the Red Raiders. The Red Raiders continued to capitalize on their momentum when less than a minute later, Macy Schultz found the second goal of the match increasing the lead to 2-0.
The Cougars (2-3-1) found a break in Texas Tech's defense as midfielder Caitlyn Matthews produced a shot for the Cougars in the 72nd minute but the shot was ultimately deflected by a Texas Tech defender.
Despite keeping possession of the ball for 51 percent of the match, Ashleigh Williams found the final goal of the night for Texas Tech in the 79th minute and it sealed the win for the Red Raiders.

The Cougars will return to Houston to face Houston Baptist at 7 p.m., Sunday at Sorrels Field. The match will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available here.
Houston will return to action at the Carl Lewis International complex at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15 for its first American Athletic Conference match of the season against South Florida for Hispanic Heritage Night.
