Cortes, Trencheva Advance to Doubles Round of 16

Houston pair set to compete at 10:30 a.m., Saturday
FORT WORTH, Texas – Elena Trencheva and Gabriela Cortes advanced to the Doubles Round of 16 on Friday afternoon at the ITA Division I Women's Texas Regional Championship at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on the Campus of TCU.
Six Cougars started off the day in the Singles Round of 64 with senior Azul Pedemonti and freshman Sonya Kovalenko picking up, advancing to the Singles Round of 32.
Laura Slisane, Sophie Schouten, Gabriela Cortes and Maria Dzemeshkevich will continue action in the consolation singles Round of 16 at 8 a.m., followed by Trencheva and Cortes competing in the doubles Round of 16 at 10:30 a.m., Saturday morning.
