Houston Hosts 11th Annual Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup

HOUSTON – The University of Houston volleyball team hosts the 11th Annual Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup Friday-Saturday in Fertitta Center, where Houston will welcome Alabama, Oregon State and Central Arkansas in a round robin tournament.

The 31-match slate features seven teams that won 20-plus matches in 2021, and four that won 25-plus. UCF and Texas each won 27 matches in 2021.
The 2022 signing class sees the addition of six newcomers, split evenly between transfers and freshmen.
Four of the six new Cougars are Texas-natives with a pair of Power 5 transfers.
The Cougars return six of their seven starters in 2022 including all four The American All-Conference selections and All-American and AAC Libero of the Year, Kate Georgiades.
Taylor McColskey is the Cougars' newest assistant coach by way of Mississippi State.
Houston is 1-0 all-time against Central Arkansas, sweeping the 2011 meeting in Houston.
Houston owns a 3-1 record over Alabama but dropped the 2021 meeting in four sets.
This is the first meeting in Houston between the Cougars and Crimson Tide since 1979.
Oregon State and Houston are tied 1-1 in the all-time series. UH won the 2021 meeting in four sets.
This is the first-ever meeting in Houston between the Cougars and Beavers.
