Strategic partnership will advance the Houston Rise Campaign as Shipley rolls out new coffee offerings
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Athletics Department and Shipley Do-Nuts have launched a strategic, multi-year partnership that establishes Shipley as the official coffee, do-nut and cold brew of the Houston Cougars. The largest partnership of its kind in Shipley's history, the multi-year collaboration will concentrate on elevating Shipley's new coffee and cold brew line as the option of choice for consumers.
The partnership also advances the Houston Rise campaign, with 50% of Shipley's investment dedicated to the construction of the Football Operations Center.
"This new partnership with Houston Athletics is a central piece of our growth strategy as we launch into our next 85 years," Shipley CEO Clifton Rutledge said. "Houston is our hometown and largest market, and aligning with Houston Athletics in such a meaningful way will help us elevate our brand and introduce visiting teams and fans to The World's Greatest Do-Nut as the Cougars step up into the Big 12 Conference."
As part of the collaboration, Shipley do-nuts and coffee will be featured at Houston Athletic venues, including TDECU Stadium for Houston Football and the Fertitta Center for Houston Men's and Women's Basketball and Volleyball. Shipley branding will be displayed across the venues, and Shipley will also be recognized prominently in the Football Operations Center, once constructed.
"Shipley is a brand synonymous with Houston, so this partnership personifies the centrality of our city to both Shipley and Houston Athletics," Houston Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said. "Together, we will expand the ways we serve our community. Our fans, donors and season ticket holders now know that supporting Shipley means supporting the rise of Houston Athletics, and vice versa. This is a powerful realization that we are very proud of."
The announcement marks yet another important step forward for the Houston Rise campaign.
"Momentum continues to build and our exciting new partnership with Shipley testifies to that," said Senior Associate Athletic Director John Gladchuk. "This is an important vote of confidence from a great Houston company. It is our hope that community members across our city see this step forward with Shipley as a call to join us and be counted in our Houston Rise campaign."
