Swimming & Diving Announces 2022-23 Meet Schedule

Six-time American Champions release schedule highlighted by four home competitions
HOUSTON - The University Houston Swimming & Diving program and Head Coach Tanica Jamison announced the 2022-23 competition schedule on Friday, that is highlighted by hosting four home meets. The full schedule can be found here.
The six-time American Athletic Conference Champions will embark on their second season under Jamison and will compete in their final season in The American. The Cougars open the fall season on Oct. 6 against Texas A&M in College Station.
From Oct. 14-15, Houston will split its squad with swimmers heading across town for the Rice Invitational, while the divers host the Houston Diving Invitational at the Campus Recreation & Wellness Center.
Houston will host its first home meet of the season on Saturday, Nov. 5 against American rival, Tulane at the CRWC Natatorium. The Cougars hosted the Green Wave prior to the 2022 American Championships, outscoring Tulane, 179-121.
Houston will wrap up the fall schedule hosting the annual Phill Hansel Invitational from Nov. 17-19. The meet honors the late Cougar great Phill Hansel who coached the Cougars from 1957-1996 and guided the program to more than 70 dual meet wins and 10 Top-20 finishes at the AIAW and NCAA Championships.
Houston will will resume action in 2023 in Coral Gables, Fla., for a tri-meet against Miami and Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, Jan. 13.
Jamison's squad will close out regular season action at home against 2022-23 American affiliate member, Rice, on Saturday, Jan. 28 for its senior meet day, where Houston will honor its senior class.
The Cougars will compete at the American Athletic Conference Championships from Feb. 13-18 from the Robson & Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillion Natatorium on SMU's campus. Diving competition will take place Monday-Wednesday, with swimming competing from Wednesday-Saturday.
