Four advance to women's quarterfinals

Houston track and field to represented on Saturday
Tamayo-Garza posted a 11.40 in the women's 100-meter and will be joined by Camille Rutherford in the quarterfinals who finished with a 11.55 time. Tamayo-Garza finished off the night with a 23.26 time in the women's 200-meter to advance to quarterfinals on Saturday.Â
Naomi Taylor and Destiny Smith also posted qualifying times to advance to Saturday in the women's 100-meter hurdles. Taylor clocked a 13.30 while Smith tallied a 13.35 in the event.Â
The women will compete in their respective finals on Saturday. The top 12 in each event will advance to the NCAA National Championship.Â
UP NEXT
The Houston men will look to secure their ticket to the NCAA Championships with finals on Friday night in Fayetteville.Â
