Houston concludes home play with Silver Glove Series finale
HOUSTON – The University of Houston closes the home portion of its schedule when it wraps the Silver Glove Series against Rice at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park.
The Cougars (34-18), who captured the Silver Glove by defeating the Owls (13-39) in each of the first two matchups, are looking for their first season sweep in the series since 2014. Houston is looking to snap its two-game losing streak after dropping the final pair to UCF over the weekend.
Rice has lost nine consecutive games, beginning with its 8-2 loss to the Cougars on May 4. The Owls sit last in Conference USA at 6-21 thanks in part to owning the league's worst fielding percentage (.957) and fewest home runs per game (0.65).
