
Annie Kim Completes Second Round at NCAA Regional

Senior rises in individual standings after shooting 75 on Tuesday
FRANKLIN, Tenn. – University of Houston senior Annie Kim posted a 75 during the Second Round of the NCAA Franklin Regional to move higher in the individual standings at Vanderbilt Legends Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Kim started her day off No. 10 with three straight pars before making birdie on the 390-yard, par-4 13th hole. Following two more pars, she added another birdie on the par-5 fourth hole and closed her day with five straight pars to finish the Second Round in a tie for 58th at 157 on the 6,836-yard North Course.
Host and 35th ranked Vanderbilt held the team lead after the Second Round at 7-under 569. No. 9 Alabama finished second at 574 while No. 21 Duke stood in third at 578.
No. 4 Wake Forest (579), No. 15 Texas A&M (584), UTSA (587), Augusta (593), No. 27 Oregon State (596), No. 41 BYU (599) and Boston University (599) rounded out the Top 10.
Texas A&M's Jennie Park posted a 66 and held the individual lead at 9-under 135. Alabama's Polly Mack stood in second at 138, while Natalia Yoko (Augusta), Tess Davenport (Vanderbilt) and Rachel Kuehn (Wake Forest) were tied for third at 140.
The Top-Four teams and Top-Two individuals not on an advancing team at each NCAA Regional advance to the NCAA Championships, set for May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
This marked the seventh season in which Houston is represented in the NCAA postseason, The Cougars competed as a team in six consecutive years from 2015-21 with the 2020 Regionals being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For Wednesday's Second Round, Kim will compete in a group with Tara Bettle (UNC Greensboro) and Mikayla Bardwell (Tennessee), beginning off No. 10 at 8:55 a.m.

ABOUT ANNIE KIM
Kim earned her invitation to the NCAA Regionals as the Cougars' leading competitor throughout the 2021-22 season. She was one of 36 individual participants to be selected for NCAA Regional play at the six sites.
The Seoul native led the team with a 73.47 scoring average and 11 rounds of par or better, including a team season-low 67 in the Second Round of the MountainView Collegiate on March 19.
She enjoyed five Top-25 finishes this year with a season-best fourth-place showing at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., on Oct. 4-6, 2021.
A two-time member of the American Athletic Conference All-Academic Team, Kim recently opened The American Championships with an even-par 72 and tied for 12th at 225 in her debut at the conference tournament.
She was named to the All-American Athletic Conference Team for the first time in her career earlier this week.
While this is the first time Kim has competed in an NCAA Regional, it is her second postseason appearance. Kim and her Cougar teammates were scheduled to compete at the 2021 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, but rain forced the cancellation of that event without a shot being played.
Kim is no stranger to Vanderbilt Legends Club. As a freshman during the 2018-19 season, she appeared in three tournaments for the Commodores before transferring to Houston.
