Houston opens three-game set at 6:30 p.m. Friday
HOUSTON – Houston Baseball wraps its eight-game homestand when the Cougars welcome Memphis for a three-game series beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday from Sanders Field at Schroeder Park. Saturday's middle game is at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday's finale starts at 1 p.m.

Houston (24-13, 5-4 American) is looking for its third conference series victory. The Cougars, who sit 2.0 games back of league-leader East Carolina, took 2 of 3 from Tulane last weekend and improved to 9-1 in the midweek with a 4-2 victory over HBU on Tuesday.

Memphis (17-16, 3-6 American) took 2 of 3 from South Florida last weekend to earn its first conference series victory. The Tigers are second in The American in doubles (69) and strikeouts per nine innings (10.1).Â

Houston and Memphis have met 78 times with the Cougars holding a 54-24 advantage in the all-time series which began in 2007. This weekend marks Memphis' first visit to Houston since March 23-25, 2018. The Cougars swept that series and are 7-2 against Memphis at home since 2014.
