Fans Invited to NCAA Tournament Send Off for Men’s Hoops

HOUSTON – University of Houston Men's Basketball fans are invited to celebrate the Cougars at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, as the team heads to Pittsburgh for the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
#15/15 Houston will compete as the No. 5 seed in the South Region First Round. The Cougars will face No. 12 seed UAB at 8:20 p.m. (CDT) Friday, inside PPG Paints Arena.
The Cougars will board the team bus, which will be parked on the Holman Street side of the practice facility, near the intersection with Cullen Boulevard. Spirit of Houston members also will be on hand for the festivities.
Free parking will be available for fans at the Student Entrance of the TDECU Stadium Garage off Holman Street from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday.
Under the leadership of Head Coach, the Cougars have posted a 29 -5 overall record with a 15-3 mark in league play for the program's third regular-season title in the last four years. With three straight wins in as many days – including a 71-53 win over Memphis in the Title Game on Sunday – the Cougars successfully defended their American Athletic Conference Championship crown.
Houston also swept the regular-season and conference tournament titles for only the fourth time in school history and the first time since the 1991-92 campaign.
