SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS. Coming of its fourth conference win, SMU holds a 10-7 overall record with a 4-1 conference record. The Mustangs went into halftime trailing ECU before outscoring the Pirates by 20 points in the final two quarters. The only conference loss SMU has on the season is against No. 1 conference team USF where the Mustangs lost by only six.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE. Taytana Hill recorded her first double-double of the season against Cincinnati. She scored 12 points and brought down 14 rebounds. It was the fourth game that Hill has tallied double-digit points and the third game she as grabbed double-digit rebounds. It was her seventh career double-double.
LOSING STREAK SNAPPED. With its 65-64 win over Tulsa, the Houston women's basketball team snapped a six game losing streak. After starting conference play on a 2-0 winning streak, the Cougars drop six-straight games. Their last conference win was against Tulsa at home and snapped the streak beating the Golden Hurricane on their home court.
MIXING IT UP. Despite only losing one starter from last season, the Cougars have recorded 11 different starting lineups throughout the season. Faced with injury, Houston has had to rely heavily on its depth. Britney Onyeje was the only player to have started all the games this season before missing the game against Memphis with an injury.
100 WINS. Head Coach Ronald Hughey is only two wins away from the 100th career win. This is Hughey's 8th season with the Cougars and holds a 98-133 overall record.
AGAINST Tulsa. Laila Blair led the Cougars with 14 points as Britney Onyeje contributed 12 points and posted three steals and two blocks. Tatyana Hill added a game-high 15 boards to go with eight points and two steals.
