Houston Tennis Takes Down Lamar, 4-0

HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis team downed Lamar University, 4-0, from Chancellors Family Center in Houston on Thursday afternoon.

Due to inclement weather in the Houston area, the Cougars moved indoors to face the Cardinals competing only in singles play.

Houston (4-4), swept Lamar (5-3), receiving wins from Sophie Gerits by the scores of 6-1, 6-0. Laura Slisane defeated her opponent by the scores of 6-2, 6-0.

Maria Dzemeshkevich and Azul Pedemonti's matches were left unfinished, but received the points to help the Cougars win their fourth match of the season.

The Cougars are now 6-0 all-time against the Cardinals.

UP NEXT
Houston will continue its homestand against UTSA and Northwestern State at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility.
The Cougars will first take on the Roadrunners on at 1 p.m. Saturday and face the Demons at 11 a.m. Monday.

Admission is free for all matches. Fans in attendance on Saturday against UTSA will receive complimentary admission to Houston's Baseball Saturday matchup against UTRGV at 4 p.m. at Schroeder Park.

Fans in attendance on Monday against Northwestern State will receive Mardi Gras beads, king cake and t-shirts while supplies last.
