Adejokun, Sampy, Booker garner American Athlete of the Week Awards

In final regular season indoor meets, three athletes shine
Adejokun continued on her record breaking season recording a new Yeoman Fieldhouse record in the women's weight throw. The 22.77 mark was a personal best for the junior who recorded a 22.09 during last week's competition. This is Adejokun's fourth-straight American Women's Field Athlete of the Week award. Missing only one meet of the regular season, the junior has won every weekly award the weeks she has competed. 
Pole vaulter Christyan Sampy highlighted the Cougars' final day at the Tiger Paw Invite at Clemson earning a first-place finish in the men's Pole Vault Invite clearing 5.47m. The personal best earned him the title in the event and placed him tenth nationally. This is Sampy's second Athlete of the Week award this season.Â
Booker completed the men's 200 with an indoor personal best at 20.87 at the Tiger Paw Invite. The junior finished in ninth place as well as contributing to a third place finish in the men's 4x400 relay team which crossed the line in 3:08.08. This is Booker's second Athlete of the Week award this season.Â

Tickets for University of Houston home collegiate track meets can be purchased here. Adult tickets are available for $10 and children tickets for $5. Spectator parking can be found in 16B and 16D for $10. Please follow marked signage to find the pedestrian path around the construction to the front of the Athletics & Alumni Center.
