SCOUTING THE PIRATES. East Carolina comes to Houston with a 9-14 record and a 2-8 conference mark. The Pirates recently recorded its second conference win against Memphis in a fourth quarter thriller. Taniyah Thompson has recorded 29 points this season against Memphis and Temple.
Double DOUBLE-DOUBLE. Against SMU both Taytana Hill and Bria Patterson recorded double-doubles. It was Hill's second double-double of the season and Patterson's first. Patterson tallied 12 points with 11 rebounds while Hill contributed 11 points and 11 boards.
STEALING THE SHOW. Tatyana Hill recorded a career-high seven steals against UCF. Her previously record was five which she tallied this season against New Mexico.
LOSING STREAK SNAPPED. With its 65-64 win over Tulsa, the Houston women's basketball team snapped a six game losing streak. After starting conference play on a 2-0 winning streak, the Cougars drop six-straight games. Their last conference win was against Tulsa at home and snapped the streak beating the Golden Hurricane on their home court and followed it up with a win at SMU.
MIXING IT UP. Despite only losing one starter from last season, the Cougars have recorded 11 different starting lineups throughout the season. Faced with injury, Houston has had to rely heavily on its depth. Britney Onyeje was the only player to have started all the games this season before missing the game against Memphis with an injury.
100 WINS. Head Coach Ronald Hughey is only one win away from the 100th career win. This is Hughey's 8th season with the Cougars and holds a 99-133 overall record.
AGAINST UCF. Hill had a career-high seven steals against the Knights to go with six rebounds, four points and two blocks. Tiara Young led the team in points with nine and added one steal to the game.
