Houston heads to Oklahoma for game against Tulsa

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN HURRICANE. Tulsa is coming into this game with an impressive record with a 13-4 mark. The Golden Hurricane are 3-3 in conference with its most recent loss coming against Cincinnati. Houston beat Tulsa earlier this season in the Fertitta Center 80-67. Wyvette Mayberry continues to lead in the team in scoring, averaging 14.6 points per game.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE. Taytana Hill recorded her first double-double of the season against Cincinnati. She scored 12 points and brought down 14 rebounds. It was the fourth game that Hill has tallied double-digit points and the third game she as grabbed double-digit rebounds. It was her seventh career double-double.
CONFERENCE PLAY. The Cougars are looking the bounce back in conference play. After opening play in the American with a 2-0 record, Houston has gone on a 0-6 losing streak with losses with UCF, Temple, Tulane, Cincinnati, Memphis and USF.
MIXING IT UP. Despite only losing one starter from last season, the Cougars have recorded 10 different starting lineups throughout the season. Faced with injury, Houston has had to rely heavily on its depth. Britney Onyeje was the only player to have started all the games this season before missing the game against Memphis with an injury.
100 WINS. Head Coach Ronald Hughey is only three wins away from the 100th career win. This is Hughey's 8th season with the Cougars and holds a 97-129 overall record.
AGAINST USF. Laila Blair connected on eight points to go with two rebounds and two assists. Tatyana Hill recorded four blocks and Tamara Nard also added three stops.
