Cougars welcome Green Wave for first home dual meet of season
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program will return to action at 11 a.m., Saturday as it hosts Tulane for its first home dual meet of the season at the CRWC Natatorium. Fans can attend the meet free of charge with no student claim necessary.
Houston's three-week hiatus comes to an end following splitting squads at the Houston Diving Invitational and Rice Fall Splash.
Senior Katie Deininger was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Diving Athlete of the Week after sweeping the podium at the Houston Diving Invitational, winning both the 1-meter (294.55) and 3-meter (318.00) events as well as earning second place on the platform with a score of 216.15.
The Cougars earned four first-place wins at the Rice Fall Splash. Abbie Alvarez earned first in the 100-yard IM a time of 58.44. Emma Wright placed first in the in the 100-yard freestyle clocking in at 50.64.
Alondra Ortiz earned her first collegiate career first-place finish with Cougars in the 400-yard IM coming in with a time of 4:24.97. Sophie Anderson wrapped up the weekend for Houston with a time of 2:18.88 in the 200-yard breaststroke.

Houston will close out its fall season hosting the Phill Hansel Invitational Nov. 17-19 at the CRWC Natatorium. Fans can attend the three-day event free of charge with no student claim necessary.
