COOG FEST - PREGAME ACTIVITES |
- Fans are encouraged to spend the day with the Cougars as part of "Coog Fest" beginning with the Houston's Men's Basketball game against Kent State at 1:30 p.m.
- Arrive early as enjoy the expanded Kids' Zone near Schroeder Gate 1.
- The student tailgate, sponsored by H-E-B, Dean of Students Office and SGA: All students are invited to stop by the student tailgate outside Gate 2. Spend time with friends and enjoy tailgating games, TVs, video games, food and giveaways.
- Greet the team for Cougar Walk at 4:15 p.m.
- Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6 p.m. as Houston Football honors its 18-member senior class. The group has helped elevate the program to new heights, highlighted by a 13-2 mark in American Athletic Conference play since the start of the 2021 season.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR |
- Houston will honor its 18 seniors on Saturday. The group includes five defensive linemen (Latrell Bankston, Atlias Bell, D'Anthony Jones, Jamykal Neal and Derek Parish), five defensive backs (Art Green, Thabo Mwaniki, Jayce Rogers, Garrison Vaughn and Gervarrius Owens), two quarterbacks (Ike Ogbogu and Clayton Tune), two running backs (Ta'Zhawn Henry and Kelan Walker), one kicker (Bubba Baxa), one wide receiver (KeSean Carter), one tight end (Christian Trahan) and one linebacker (Donavan Mutin).
- Saturday marks Houston's final game in American Athletic Conference history. The Cougars are 50-27 all-time in 10 years of league play since joining The American prior to the 2013 season including a 26-11 mark at home.
- Since beginning its season 2-3, including dropping its league opener to Tulane, Houston has won five of its last six matchups. During the six-game stretch, the Cougars have averaged 43.5 points per game and permitted just six sacks.
- The Cougars enter the final weekend with an outside shot of reaching The American Championship game, pending Friday's matchup between Tulane (6-1) and Cincinnati (6-1). The Cougars (5-2) are currently tied for third in the conference standings with UCF (5-2). The Knights close their season at South Florida.
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW |
- Houston and Tulsa are meeting for the 46th time in the history of the programs. The Cougars' 26 all-time wins against the Hurricane are the second most against any opponent (34, Rice). Houston has won six of the last seven against Tulsa.
- The Cougars are 13-2 in their last 15 American Athletic Conference matchups dating to the start of the 2021 season, marking the program's best 15-game stretch in league play since replicating the feat from Oct. 28, 2006-Oct. 18, 2008, as a member of Conference USA.
- Houston held East Carolina to three points in last Saturday's 42-3 victory. The three points marked the Pirates lowest output in a home conference game since Sept. 21, 1968, against William & Mary (0 points). The three points allowed were the fewest by the Cougars in a conference matchup since permitting as many at South Florida on Nov. 1, 2014.
- Houston quarterback Clayton Tune is one passing touchdown shy of 100 for his career. The senior, who leads The American in career touchdown passes (99), is also four touchdown passes shy of matching Tanner Mordecai of SMU's American Conference single-season touchdown record (39) set a season ago. He enters the day with 35.
- Houston wide receiver Nathaniel Dell has hauled in 11 touchdowns over his last seven games. Dell's 2,522 receiving yards and eight multi-touchdown performances since the start of the 2021 season both lead the country. The junior also paces the nation with 29 touchdown receptions since 2020.
SCOUTING TULSA |
- Tulsa looks to end its season on a high note. The Golden Hurricane are seeking their fifth victory including second consecutive. Tulsa held on to a 48-42 win one week ago against South Florida. In the victory, the Hurricane a 300-yard passer (Braylon Braxton), 200-yard rusher (Deneric Prince) and 100-yard receiver (Keylon Stokes) for the first time in school history.
- Like the Cougars, Tulsa is no stranger to comeback victories. The Hurricane trailed South Florida 10-0 one week ago before rallying. The comeback victory was the third of the season.
LAST TIME AGAINST TULSA |
- Houston freshman running back Alton McCaskill IV rushed for three touchdowns as the Cougars ran away with a 45-10 victory on Oct. 1, 2021, at Tulsa.
- The Cougars jumped out to a 28-0 lead through the first 25 minutes and never looked back in winning its third straight game against Tulsa and for the sixth time in the last seven outings.
- Houston's defense forced Tulsa into three turnovers leading to 13 points and blocked a punt with four sacks. The Golden Hurricane managed only 10 points off 289 yards of total offense, including 31 rushing yards.

- Help Houston reach its eighth victory for the 12th time in the last 17 seasons.
- Move the Cougars to 14-2 in their last 16 American Athletic Conference games, marking the best 16-game stretch in league play since replicating the feat from Oct. 21, 2006-Oct. 18, 2008.
- Be Houston's 98th since the start of the 2011 season, ranking as the most among FBS programs in Texas.
- Be Houston's 11th win in its last 12 home regular season finales (2011-present) and 16th victory in its last 18 (2005-present).
