
Tennis Closes Fall Season at Rice Invitational

Three-day event begins Thursday
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Tennis program wraps up its fall schedule at the Rice Invitational beginning Friday morning at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on the campus of Rice.
The Cougars will face Rice, BYU and UTA in doubles and singles matches through Saturday. The Rice Invitational begins at 9 a.m., each day with two rounds of doubles and one round on singles on Thursday.
Last weekend, the Cougars competed at the Baylor Invite earning 10 singles and 10 doubles victories throughout the weekend. Nine Cougars saw action including senior Sofia Chang who made her first appearance of the fall season earning a singles win against Washington State's Stefaniia Mikhailova in a tiebreaker with set scores of 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-8).
Junior Laura Slisane went undefeated in singles play with victories against Baylor's Danielle Tuhten (7-5, 6-3) and Washington State's Elyse Tse (7-6, 6-4).
