Singleton named to Honor Roll
HOUSTON – University of Houston senior Emma Clarke was named the American Athletic Conference's Defender of the Week and redshirt freshman Haley Woodward was honored as Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Friday.
Clarke's honor comes from her performance against Temple where she helped the Cougars to a clean sheet and limited the Owls to three shots on goal. The Christchurch, New Zealand, native recorded a shot on goal in the eighth minute of the match.
Woodward recorded her second shutout of the season against Temple and posted three saves in the match. The Fayetteville, Arkansas, native concluded the season with 70 saves including 31 saves in American Conference play.
The conference recognitions did not stop there for the Cougars as senior Janna Singleton was named to The American's Honor Roll list after picking up a brace against Temple on Thursday. The DeSoto, Texas, native wrapped up the season with five goals to her name. This was Singleton's second Honor Roll mention of the season.
