Former softball standout at Delaware State joins Vesely’s staff
HOUSTON – University of Houston softball head coach Kristin Vesely added a valuable member of her staff on Wednesday with the hiring of Jordan Reid as Director of Operations.
Reid joins the staff after holding the title of Assistant Director of Sport Administration and Championships at The American Athletic Conference office in Irving, Texas. The former softball standout at Delaware State and collegiate softball coach returns to the diamond after four full years away from the sport.
The former infielder/outfielder played four seasons for the Hornets from 2009-12 helping Delaware State win 109 games during her time. After her collegiate career ended, Reid joined the coaching staff as a graduate assistant for the 2013 season and then as a full-time assistant for the 2014 season.
Reid then joined the Appalachian State staff as an assistant coach for the 2015-17 seasons.
Following her time at Appalachian State, Reid joined The American in 2017.
While at The American, Reid facilitated the logistical preparation for the Olympic sport championship events which included hiring vendors, event management, game management and officials. Reid also chaired the conferences' annual coaches' business meetings for select Olympic sports.
At Houston, Reid will handle the day-to-day operations which include but are not limited to, managing the team's travel, coordinating recruiting activities, community service events and is the liaison between the coaching staff and support staff within the athletic department.
Reid earned her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Delaware State in 2012 and her Master of Sport Administration in 2015.
