HOUSTON – Two of Houston Soccer's very own were called up to represent their countries on an international stage. Senior goalkeeper Salma Ghazal will be representing Jordan while freshman defender Jaden Masters will be representing Bermuda.
"Anytime you get to represent your nation on the world stage, it's a huge opportunity," said Houston Head Coach Diego Bocanegra. "The experiences from the events are memories that will last a lifetime."
Ghazal will be playing in the net for the Jordan national team in the 2022 Women's Asian Cup Qualifying tournament which will be held in Uzbekistan. The 12 qualifying teams will have the opportunity to play in the final tournament held in India. This is also the first stage of the Asian qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.
Jordan will face Bangladesh on Sunday for the first round of the tournament following a match against Iran on Sept. 25. For more information on this tournament and match schedule, click here.
