Cougars kick off season vs. Texas Tech on Sept. 4 in NRG Stadium; Host Grambling State on Sept. 18 in TDECU Stadium
HOUSTON – As the University of Houston Football program prepares for the 2021 season, fans will experience a number of new and exciting gameday elements in and around TDECU Stadium.
These pregame and in-game features will deliver a more enhanced, enjoyable, and convenient game day experience for all fans and guests during the fall.
HOME SCHEDULE
The Cougars kick off the 2021 season when they take on Texas Tech at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 4, inside NRG Stadium as part of the Texas Kickoff.
From there, Houston opens its home schedule inside beautiful TDECU Stadium when it plays host to Grambling State at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 18. The remaining home schedule includes American Athletic Conference rivals Navy (Saturday, Sept. 25), Homecoming vs. East Carolina (Saturday, Oct. 23), SMU (Saturday, Oct. 30) and Memphis (Friday, Nov. 19).
75 YEARS of HOUSTON ATHLETICS
During the 2021-22 season, the University of Houston will celebrate its 75th anniversary of intercollegiate athletics.
Throughout the home Football schedule and Athletics events this season, Houston Athletics will recognize its championship tradition, extraordinary student-athletes and coaches and memorable moments from its rich history.
As part of this year's celebration, John O'Quinn Field along with other areas throughout TDECU Stadium will be decorated with the school's 75th anniversary logo.

Tailgating will return around TDECU Stadium in 2021 and will include new and expanded pre-game hospitality elements that UH fans will enjoy.
New Cougar Pride Athletic Fund Tailgate – Cougar Pride members contributing at the Varsity Level and above are invited to experience great food, live entertainment and fellowship at the Cougar Pride Athletic Fund Tailgate, located outside the Club/Suite entry to TDECU Stadium.
New Cougar Pride Club – Invited Cougar Pride Athletic Fund members will experience premium hospitality in the new Cougar Pride Club, located at the Schroeder Gate, Patio 134.
New Beer Garden – Fans will enjoy the new Beer Garden located on Cullen Boulevard between Gate 1 and Gate 2 with tailgate games and a cash bar available.
New Student Tailgate – UH students who are not part of a student organization can join Houston Athletics' new Student Tailgate on Cullen Boulevard near Cougar Place Boulevard. Free food and beverages will be available while supplies last with cash bar, tailgate games, video games and TVs showing that day's games. Students must show their IDs and a free ticket for admission.
Expanded Kids' Zone – Houston's younger fans will enjoy the new Kids' Zone with inflatables, face painting, tattoos, tailgate games and a Selfie station with our former student-athletes. Fans can find the new Kids' Zone between Gate 1 and Gate 4 on the north side of TDECU Stadium.

Houston Athletics recently partnered with Chartwells as its new food service provider at all UH Athletics venues.
As part of this partnership, fans will enjoy an enhanced gameday guest experience with the addition of new and improved points-of-sale technology, digital menu screens and points-of-sale options throughout TDECU Stadium,
Fans will savor an array of new local food flavors and brands, including Tacos A Go-Go, Papa John's, Chick-fil-A, Turkey Leg Hut, Miss Patty's The Burger Queen, Fry Shack, Smoked and the Waffle Bus to name just a few.
Returning in 2021, sEATz mobile ordering and in-seat wait service along with in-stadium hawkers service will be available to fans providing additional convenient and affordable options while fans cheer on the Coogs.

Houston Athletics recently announced its new e-commerce and in-venue retail merchandise partnership with Follett. Follett will provide UH fans of all ages with a large variety of authentic UH gear and products at Houston Football games or on-line throughout the year.
Fans will enjoy the benefits of a new UH Team Shop retail store along with additional merchandise kiosk stands and locations throughout TDECU Stadium.
MOBILE TICKETING & PARKING
Houston Athletics fans will continue to enjoy the ease of access with all ticketed sporting events in a fully integrated mobile experience.
With mobile ticketing, Houston Athletics fans enjoy various benefits, including reduced wait lines and contactless exchanges delivering a safe and quicker experience when attending events, eliminating printing, delivery, loss or stolen tickets along with more convenient access and options in managing of tickets. From their digital wallets, fans scan their mobile device at the entrance for easy venue access. In the event a fan cannot attend a game, this new ticketing solution provides a convenient option to resell their tickets on StubHub directly from their mobile device.

Parking passes can be downloaded onto your mobile phone. The pass will grant you admittance into designated cash parking lots on campus based on availability in each lot.
TDECU STADIUM UPGRADES
As we aim to create the best game day experience for our fans and guests, you will experience some subtle refresh elements and more pronounced additions at TDECU Stadium when attending Houston Football games this fall, including but not limited to:
Houston Athletics and TDECU are teaming up in 2021 to host local non-profit organizations from the Greater Houston community each game throughout the season as part of the TDECU CARES community program.
COUGAR PRIDE E-PASSPORT
New for the 2021-22 season, the Cougar Pride E-Passport will double as a Cougar Pride/Season Ticket Holder membership e-card and will be used to activate exclusive discounts for Cougar Pride Athletic Fund members.
Additionally, it will be used to track member attendance at ticketed Athletics and Cougar Pride events. Members will be rewarded for attendance with points accrued unlocking unique rewards such as exclusive Nike merchandise and experiences.
Cougar Pride members also will have the option of purchasing one of three Olympic Sports Access Plans to gain up to 2 tickets (per availability) to sports such as Houston Softball, Volleyball, Soccer and Women's Basketball.
E-cards will be disseminated electronically to all Cougar Pride donors and can be used via Apple Wallet and Google Pay.
