Cougars meet Cowboys inside Dickies Arena in Hoop Hype XL | College Basketball Showcase
HOUSTON – The University of Houston Men's Basketball program will meet Oklahoma State on Dec. 18 inside Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, as part of the Hoop Hype XL | College Basketball Showcase.
This will be the third time in the last four years in which the Cougars will face the Cowboys. Houston claimed a 63-53 win in Gallagher-Iba Arena on Dec. 8, 2018, before Oklahoma State took a 61-55 win inside the Fertitta Center on Dec. 15, 2019.
It also will be the first meeting against Oklahoma State at a neutral site since the Cowboys enjoyed a 75-60 win during the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional in Manhattan, Kan., on March 12, 1965.
HOUSTON in DICKIES ARENA
The Cougars and their fans are no strangers to Dickies Arena.
Houston claimed a 64-53 win over No. 14/13 Texas Tech on Nov. 29, 2020, and followed that with three straight wins, including a 91-54 victory over Cincinnati in the Title Game, at the American Athletic Conference Championships to capture the crown.

The charitable component for Hoop Hype XL | College Basketball Showcase will be a community campaign called the [a3] Initiative. The [a3] Initiative, in connection with U-Sports Group and the Hoop Hype XL basketball platform, will strive to blur the lines between sport and service, inspiring the participating student-athletes to use their gifts to empower and improve the lives of those who are less-fortunate.
