Houston dropped 3-of-4 games over the weekend to Cincinnati … the Cougars were led by Ian McMillan (5-for-13) who posted a .385 average, recorded two runs, did not strike out and provided the walk-off single in the ninth inning on Saturday … Houston starter Jaycob Deese paced the pitching staff, registering a 1.69 ERA despite drawing the loss in Game 2 Friday … Cincinnati collected a pair of home runs and Griffin Merritt tallied four RBIs as the Bearcats downed Houston, 7-2 in the four-game series opener Friday afternoon … Houston miscues helped result in a combined six runs for Cincinnati in the middle frames as the Cougars dropped the doubleheader finale, 7-0 to the Bearcats on Friday night … Houston shortstop Ian McMillan sent a game-winning RBI-single into right field in the ninth inning as the Cougars walked off Cincinnati, 6-5, on Saturday afternoon … Ryan Hernandez (2-for-4), who homered in the fourth, started the ninth by shooting an 0-2 single into right field. Pinch runner Samuel Benjamin stole second and scored the winning run on the McMillan (1-for-5) single, sliding headfirst to beat the throw from right field … Houston's Samuel Tormos (2-for-3) continued his weekend breakout performance, clobbering a solo home run to spark the Cougars' three-run fifth inning … Cincinnati used a strong start and plated four in the eighth to spoil Houston's senior day with a 10-3 win in the four-game series finale on Sunday afternoon … Houston closes its regular season slate with eight consecutive on the road … the Cougars open a four-game series against Memphis with doubleheader action starting at 1 p.m. Friday.
