Houston dropped 3-of-4 games over the weekend at No. 25 Tulane … the Cougars were led offensively by Tyler Bielamowicz, who registered six hits and batted .375 alongside four runs, a double, triple and home run … Ryan Hernandez collected six RBIs and logged five hits … Houston starting pitching posted a 4.64 ERA … Houston could not solve Tulane starter Braden Olthoff as the No. 25 Green Wave tacked on insurance late to down the Cougars 3-0 in the four-game series opener Friday … Houston starter Robert Gasser allowed one run on five hits while walking a pair and striking out eight … Tulane erased a pair of three-run deficits and scored 10 unanswered runs down the stretch as the No. 25 Green Wave defeated Houston, 11-4 on Friday night … Cougar starter Jaycob Deese (2-4) allowed six hits and five runs (four earned) while walking three and striking out as many in 6.1 innings … Houston produced a seven-run third inning and received steady pitching from starter Ben Sears to take down No. 25 Tulane, 7-4 in the doubleheader opener on Saturday afternoon … Houston's victory snapped Tulane's win streak at 12 consecutive games, the longest for the program since 2001 … Houston sent 11 batters to the plate in the third including Kyle Lovelace who reached twice in the frame with the latter coming on a two-out, two-run double … Houston cut an early six-run deficit to within one in the ninth inning before falling 6-5 to No. 25 Tulane in the four-game series finale on Saturday night … Tyler Bielamowicz clubbed a solo home run in the ninth inning. Ryan Hernandez and Dylan Post followed with singles before Tulane reliever Keegan Gillies buckled down with a pair of strikeouts … Houston returns to action Friday when it closes home regular season play with a four-game set against Cincinnati … following a visit from the Bearcats, Houston will play its final two regular season series on the road leading into the AAC Baseball Championships.
