Series winner will be decided on Sunday after Mountaineers take game two
MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Houston Baseball fell in the second game of the weekend series to #15 West Virginia, 7-1, on Saturday morning at Kendrick Family Ballpark.
Ian Korn (3-0) picked up the win for the Mountaineers (26-9) after throwing five innings in relief, allowing one run on three hits. Senior Paul Schmitz (2-5) took the loss, allowing four runs on three hits in 5.2 innings.

GAME SUMMARY
After Schmitz allowed only one hit in the first four innings, West Virginia broke through in the fifth as a sacrifice bunt pushed the first run of the game across the plate. The Mountaineers added another trio of runs in the sixth behind three RBI singles, increasing their lead to four.
Houston answered in the seventh as senior Antonelli Savattere drove home Climie, but West Virginia notched another three-run frame in the bottom of the inning to cap the scoring, handing the home team a 7-1 win.
