
Houston Ready for Aggie Invitational this Weekend

Cougars tee off at Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas, beginning Friday morning
BRYAN, Texas – The University of Houston Men's Golf program returns to action when it tees off at the Aggie Invitational beginning Friday morning at Traditions Golf Club.
Teams will play 18 holes each day on the 7,146-yard, par-72 course beginning with an 8:15 a.m., split tee start Friday and continuing through Sunday.
Houston enters this weekend's tournament following a third-place finish at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic earlier this week at Westwood Golf Club in Houston.
Senior Alexander Frances posted three straight rounds of par or better and led three Cougars among the Top-20 leaders with a score of 4-under 212 to tie for ninth. Long and senior Andrew Gibson tied for 11th and tied for 16th, respectively, with each shooting a team-season low 66 in the Second (Long) and Final (Gibson) rounds.

STARTING LINEUP
Under the direction of Director of Golf Jonathan Dismuke, the Cougars will be represented by senior Luke Long, sophomore Austyn Reily, senior Alexander Frances, senior Matt Cole and senior Andrew Gibson.
This season, Reily and Frances are tied for the team lead with a 72.65 scoring average and nine rounds of par or better in 17 rounds played. Long stands second among the Cougars with a 73.24 average and eight sub-par rounds, while Cole is third at 73.53 and seven.
TEAM FIELD
The Cougars will compete in a 17-team field against Baylor, Kansas, Lamar, Louisville, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Northern Illinois, North Texas, Oklahoma, Prairie View A&M, Rice, Texas, Texas Tech, UNLV, UTSA and host Texas A&M
PAIRINGS
For Friday's First Round, the Cougars will compete in groups with student-athletes from Louisville and Kansas.
Gibson will begin at 8:50 a.m., off No. 1 with Cole (9 a.m.), Frances (9:10 a.m.), Reily (9:20 a.m.) and Long (9:30 a.m.) to follow.

Following the Aggie Invitational, Houston takes its first step in the postseason when it tees off at the American Athletic Conference Championships at Southern Hills Plantation in Brooksville, Fla., on April 23-25.
The winner of the league's annual postseason event receives the automatic bid to NCAA Regional play.
