Cougars add transfer guard to roster
HOUSTON – The University of Houston women's basketball team adds another guard to the roster after Ash'a Thompson signed a National Letter of Intent on Monday morning.
"We are excited to have her," said Head Coach Ronald Hughey. "She comes from a strong winning culture are Desoto High School. We have Bria Patterson and signed Kendall Brown this past fall. They all have come in ready to work and bring that winning mentality to our program. She's an athletic three-level scorer that fits in with what we do on offense and defense."
Thompson is a 5-11 guard who will join the Cougars after spending a year at Old Dominion where she appeared in 18 games for the Monarch's. The Desoto High School standout and former teammate of Houston sophomore guard Bria Patterson and incoming freshman Kendall Brown played a career-high 18 minutes against Marshall. She scored a career-high seven points against Charlotte in 14 minutes of play. In ODU's season-opener, Thompson snagged a career-high seven rebounds.
