Houston closes four-game road trip on Wednesday
BEAUMONT, Texas – Houston Baseball closes its four-game road trip with a midweek matchup at Lamar from Vincent-Beck Stadium on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. The contest can be seen on LamarCardinals.com at no cost and heard via Stretch Live with Jeremy Branham on the call.
Â
Houston is fresh off a series win at A&M-Corpus Christi, outlasting the Islanders, 4-3 in 10 innings during Sunday's finale. The Cougars (6-1) are off to their best seven-game start since 2015, thanks in part to an offense that leads the nation in home runs (20) and pitching staff that has posted a 3.00 ERA.
Â
Wednesday marks the 83rd all-time meeting between Houston and Lamar with the Cougars holding a 54-28 advantage and 20-13 edge in Beaumont. The contest will be the first for the Cardinals who have been sidelined due to COVID-19 positive tests and subsequent contact tracing.
